From the President -- The Bottom Line

For twenty-five years I experienced the privilege of working in a wide variety of industries from textile to high tech, life sciences to environmental management and from automotive to aerospace. My professional career provided me the opportunity to learn, firsthand, business processes from receipt of order to cash collection. I was also afforded the opportunity to implement various Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software on eleven occasions. I have worked at every level of corporate America from the ground floor to the executive offices. During my career I experienced small, medium and large company environments. I also observed that small business owners have limited availability to quality service offerings that meet their needs. Configurable Management was established to level the playing field and fill this much needed void for the small business owner.

Beyond the critical nature of process, systems and personnel infrastructure is the corporate culture. Culture is a very important ingredient and one that has a significant impact, positively or negatively, on the business as a whole. A positive culture within the work environment improves employee retention, reduces stress levels and improves productivity. All of which improve long term profitability. One's approach to leadership establishes the culture of the environment in which they operate. Establishing a positive culture can be achieved through disciplined thought, disciplined action and a genuine desire to help others achieve their personal goals along with the goals of the business.

I have a compassion for people, a deep appreciation for the diligent and a firm belief that to be an effective leader one must serve their team. The bible tells us in John 13:14 that Jesus washed His disciple's feet and commanded them to do likewise. In the Jewish culture of Jesus' day slaves washed the feet of visitors. Not only was this a slaves duty but it was the most menial of all slave tasks. In contrast, Jesus was a Rabbi (teacher). Relating this to the business world Jesus would be the equivalent of today's CEO to his disciples. His disciples would be representative of management trainees. Jesus' act represents one of total humility and servant hood; the ultimate example of what true leadership looks like. My personal dream is that our world will exemplify this nature in all relationships. This will become a reality one relationship at a time.

With this in mind, Configurable Management is here to serve our customers, our customer's customers and anyone else that we are given the privilege and opportunity to serve. Maybe, just maybe, our approach to business relationship development with integrity, humility and servant hood in the forefront will become infectious and the world will experience epidemic levels of humility and servant hood.
